The Ball (or the prom if you ask Kylie)

Before the Ball

Me and Julie Dunlap (Her husband is also AGR, Next stop Ft. Leavenworth, MO)

We attended our first Military Ball on Friday May 8, 2009. It was very fun getting dressed up and feeling fancy. We are so not the fancy couple. But I must say my sweetie sure looked hot in his dress blues. I asked Kylie if I looked like a princess and she said "not like Cinderella because your dress isn't blue." She is also very excited the ball is over because she has been waiting since March to wear my shoes. I told her she could wear them when ever she wanted after the Ball. She is now in heaven (shoes are her favorite).

Mark's Graduation

On Thursday, May 7, 2009, Mark graduated from Webster University with his Master's in Leadership and Management. We are so proud of him.

This degree is all part of the United States Sergeant's Major Academy. He was given Tuesday and Thursday afternoon's off to study and then attended class a couple nights a week.

Spring Soccer

Kylie and Kesley both played soccer this Spring for the first time. (I guess this is Kesley's second time, she played when she was 4 and didn't like it because she didn't like to get sweaty, what a girly girl.) They both had a great time. Kylie always smiles even when she plays soccer. I forgot to take pictures of Kesley before the last game and she then she missed the last game. Sorry. Maybe next time.

MONTANA

We are headed to HELENA MONTANA in September, hopefully for a few years!! We are 7 hours from Utah so we want to know when you visit and we can come visit too :) We are pretty excited to see mountains again.

The Boys

Dylan, Mark, Paul, Scott and little Scotty (Mark's brother, dad and nephew) all went hiking in Southern Utah during our trip home for Spring Break. Us girls stayed in Logan and played with cousins and shopped. Mark had the camera so no pictures of us. We all had a great trip!!

April 4, 2009 What a Day!!

On Saturday April 4, 2009 Mark, Kesley and I were shopping for Kesley's Easter dress at the Post PX (kind of like a department store/Walmart on Ft. Bliss). Kesley was trying on a dress when we heard gun shots. We then heard people screaming. We didn't know what was happening just that Mark told us to get down and be quiet. After he felt it was safe we ran through the emergency doors to our car. Tons of police came. They blocked off the parking lot and would not let us leave or cars come in. It was the scariest experience ever. Later in the week, news reports came out that the woman shot was a new soldier to Ft. Bliss and she and her husband had just moved to El Paso. They started arguing in the store and he shot her and then shot himself. Kesley was very traumatized but as the days have gone by she is doing much better. We all are. Kesley started seeing a counselor to help work through her fears and stresses. She only feels safe as long as Mark is with her. (She is working through this too because Mark cannot always be around.) We are very proud of her, a week later she chose to go back to the PX and get her Easter dress. She did so well.

On a more happier note. Dylan turned 12 in December and was able to attend his first Priesthood session of General Conference with Mark. They met up with some friends and all went out to ice cream after it was over. When did we get so old? It feels like yesterday Dylan was born, now he is 12. What a great experience for Dylan and Mark to share.

I'm a liar

We are going to Washington anymore!!!! I am so frustrated!!!!! They give us a list of places that we can choose from and then when we choose they say no. So I have given up. I will go where ever and try and be happy about it. I think the latest is Aurora (Denver) Colorado, Madison Wisconsin, and maybe Helena again. I will keep you posted. But I think it will be a surprise to all of us. Watch it will be somewhere like Atlanta Georgia or something out of the blue. I'm not putting it past this stupid army.
